Spider Solitaire, online and free
Spider Solitaire is played with two decks across ten columns. Your goal is to build full runs from King down to Ace in a single suit; each finished run leaves the table, and clearing all eight wins the game.
Pick one suit for a calm game, or two or four suits for a serious challenge. Tap cards to move them, drag stacks, and undo as much as you need.
How to play Spider Solitaire
- Two decks are dealt into ten columns. The rest stay in the deck.
- Stack cards downward in any suit, for example any 7 on any 8.
- A group can only be moved together if it is all the same suit and in order.
- A complete run from King down to Ace in one suit is removed. Remove all eight runs to win.
- Tap the deck to deal one new card onto every column. Each column must have at least one card first.
Spider Solitaire tips
Start with 1 suit
With one suit every stack can be moved together, which makes it the best way to learn. Two and four suits are much harder.
Build in suit whenever you can
Mixed-suit stacks can't be moved as one group. When you have a choice, put a card on the same suit.
Empty columns are gold
An empty column lets you park cards and rearrange stacks. Try to clear one before you deal from the deck.
Frequently asked questions
Is Spider Solitaire hard?
With one suit it is relaxed and most games can be won. With two suits it is a real challenge, and four suits is one of the hardest solitaire games there is.
Why can't I deal new cards?
Every column needs at least one card before you can deal. Fill any empty column first.
How many cards are used?
Spider uses two decks, 104 cards in total, dealt into ten columns.
